Passenger Rights
As a Hired Transport service user you have the right to:
1. Be treated with respect and have your dignity, privacy and confidentiality respected by staff and volunteers
2. Be fully informed about the services available to you
3. Expect an achievable safety standard when involved with transport activities and service
4. Receive a service that is sensitive to you in individual needs, including language skills and background
5. Complain about the service you are receiving without fear of retribution
6. Refuse services without prejudicing your access to services
7. Have someone speak on your behalf when talking to the service about your needs
8. Be consulted regarding planning and evaluation of service
Passenger Responsibilities
As a Hired transport service user it is your responsibility to:
1. Act in such a way that respects the rights of other passengers staff and volunteers
2. To respect the confidentiality of information about other clients or team members which you may obtain whilst using the service
3. To notify the staff of any relevant matter that may affect your care or future access to the service
4. To notify the service as soon as possible if you need to cancel or change a booking with the service
5. To play a part in helping the service provide a responsive and professional service
6. To utilise seatbelts and other safety devices as directed by authorised team members
The Transport & Care for you service will ensure privacy and confidentiality by:
Collecting only the information required for service delivery;
Informing people of the purpose for collecting the information;
Providing individuals with access to their information held by the Service;
Securely storing Service Users personal information; and
Destroying information in accordance with the Archives Act 1983.
